Therapeutic Approach
I believe in both the power of play and relationships to help children heal. Play becomes the shared language that the child and I can use to begin to understand their world. While we play, I am noticing patterns and body language. But ultimately staying curious about what they might be communicating through the play. The play sessions are like the slow release of a pressure cooker. It is an opportunity for your child to express their internal world at their own pace. In addition to play sessions, I do consistent parent sessions. These are used for parent coaching in which we talk about strategies for home life and what you as the caregiver might need. I strive to guide and support parents and caregivers because, at the end of the day, your relationship with your child will be the healing change.
